Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant

A packaged sewage treatment plant brings biological treatment, clarification and controls into a compact containerized unit for decentralized domestic wastewater. Start with the daily flow and required effluent quality, then compare the available unit sizes and options.

Use the model tables to shortlist equipment for your site. Include the operating conditions in your inquiry so KUOSI can confirm the configuration and quote scope.

Where This Package Fits

This integrated sewage treatment plant is intended for sites that need to treat domestic wastewater close to where it is generated. Typical applications include rural communities and small residential developments, hotels and resorts, schools and highway service areas.

For a seasonal site, share both low-season and peak flows. For a campus or service area with several wastewater sources, identify which streams will feed the plant so they can be reviewed during selection.

What the Package Brings Together

Containerized layout. The compact arrangement groups the treatment equipment and controls for transport and site installation. Allow separate space for delivery, lifting and service access.

Biological reactor and clarification. The biological stage treats the incoming domestic wastewater, and the clarifier separates biomass from the treated water.

Filtration and disinfection. The documented configurations include fiber or sand filtration and chlorine-tablet or UV disinfection. Confirm the treatment stages and equipment included in the quote.

Controls and auxiliaries. A central cabinet manages operation. The equipment compartment accommodates items such as blowers, pumps, piping and valves. Remote monitoring can be reviewed as an option.

Models, Capacity and Dimensions

First choose the effluent design basis, then compare flow and container dimensions. Maximum flows shown are 24-hour catalogue selection figures for individual units. Use them to shortlist models. Confirm the model and rating for your water quality, peak loads and operating schedule.

The catalogue sizing basis uses COD of 300 mg/L, BOD₅ of 150 mg/L, ammonia nitrogen of 30 mg/L and total phosphorus of 4 mg/L. Submit measured influent, including total nitrogen, for project sizing.

Effluent Design Targets

Use the reference targets below to discuss the required configuration. The values are selected design targets from the equipment documentation. Agree the applicable limits and acceptance tests for your site before specifying the plant.

ParameterClass I-AClass I-B
COD (mg/L)≤ 50≤ 60
BOD₅ (mg/L)≤ 10≤ 20
Suspended solids (mg/L)≤ 10≤ 20
Ammonia nitrogen (mg/L)≤ 5 / 8≤ 8 / 15
Total nitrogen (mg/L)≤ 15≤ 20
Total phosphorus (mg/L)≤ 0.5≤ 1.0
pH6–96–9

For ammonia nitrogen, the first value applies above 12 °C and the second applies at or below 12 °C. Nitrogen and phosphorus targets depend on the influent and agreed process configuration, including any required dosing. Check the discharge or reuse requirements for the project location.

Options to Discuss

Available options for review include a prefabricated pumping station, online water-quality monitoring, remote controls and odor-control dosing. Buried installation, nonstandard dimensions and enclosure changes can be reviewed for individual projects. Ask for an itemized scope so you can identify the equipment and site work included in the quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Start with average and peak flow, influent analysis and the required outlet quality. Then compare the container dimensions with your delivery route, available space and lifting plan.

Include the expected low and peak flows, occupancy patterns and any higher-strength streams. Those inputs help determine whether the catalogue rating applies and whether the project needs equalization or pretreatment.

The package integrates the biological reactor, clarification, auxiliary equipment and controls. Ask the quotation team to identify the filtration, disinfection and monitoring equipment included, along with any external pumping, tanks or site work.

Review the support surface, unloading plan, clearances and access for maintenance. Confirm the connection points for influent, effluent, power and sludge handling against the approved layout.

Budget operator time for checks on pumps and blowers, solids removal, and servicing of the chosen filter and disinfection equipment. Use the manuals and commissioning instructions for the selected configuration.

Send the site location, average and peak flows, influent test data, outlet requirements and available space. Note whether the quote should cover delivery, installation or commissioning so each item can be scoped separately.

Request a Project Quotation

Tell KUOSI where the plant will operate, how much wastewater it will treat and what the outlet needs to meet. Include a site plan or recent water analysis if available, and identify any options you want priced.

Send your project requirements to KUOSI.
